"If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming it on you." By: Rudyard Kipling 1885 We live in an era of increasingly rapid change. I've been saying this for years, but it is truer now than ever! Jobs, the economy, finances, communication, transportation, health care, and so much more are all part of this change. Whenever we experience change, whether it seems positive or negative, it is necessary for us to adapt and grow. This is especially true if we want to live more in the paradigm of positive possibilities rather than fearful reaction. At Yoga of the Mind, we teach you practical techniques for shifting yourself to the positive and clearing emotional blocks and fear. One of the most important and rewarding of these techniques is a grounding meditation - where you work with your connection to the earth. Grounding helps you "keep your head" and develop an inner calm center, regardless of what's going on around you. Once we have our grounded center, one of the most empowering questions we can ask ourselves is "What is possible now?" It works best if we ask this in a spirit of discovery and let the answers come naturally, rather than trying to come to an immediate conclusion. |
