In this workshop you will learn the fundamental alignment points for handstand through a thorough study of deep stretching, strength + training drills. While handstand requires much strength + agility, it is a foundational posture much like the plank or downward facing dog in yoga - where knowledge of body mechanics + good use of the transverse abdominus (the body's primary stabilizer) can make the posture “advanced”. The focus of this workshop will be honing in on the balance between mobility + stability as well as a newfound deep core awareness while exploring handstand from top to bottom. Students will learn all the essentials in how to practice handstand with efficiency, grace + lightness while simultaneously releasing the fears and/or negative self-talk that may have been holding them back from handstanding. All levels are welcome to this fun journey into a handstand practice!
