About Us
It all began in a basement of a small community center in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn.
More than just a music school, Bay Ridge School of Music is a community of young musicians in the Fort Hamilton section of Brooklyn. Through music, young people have an opportunity to escape from the craziness of growing up in the city. They have a chance to find themselves in the music. Something as simple as what is essentially a wooden box with metal strings becomes an escape pod from the world. We hope that you have an awesome time while you’re here!
It's been 8 years since we first started our small studio on 72nd street, and it has been the most amazing journey. We watch our students grow as musicians and more importantly, grow as young adults during our Friday Night Music Fellowship for teens. Our small space is making an impact on the lives of young people in such a big way. We believe that God has so much in store for this place. Our strength is in our students, our staff, our parents and our community who believe in what we are doing here through music in Brooklyn.
