Why Do You Need A Strong Core and What is it anyway? You may be wondering why i'm talking about core muscles and not massage. I've been taking an online course in corrective exercise and through this course and my own fitness i've learned how valuable core strength is to one's body. It's the difference between feeling unsteady and weak to strong and powerful. Core muscles are the abdominals, hips, glutes and lower back. Your core is like a chain, connecting the upper and lower links (muscles). no matter how you're moving, that movement travels upward and downward to connecting links. A strong core gives you power to move efficiently while enhancing balance and stability. Posture is greatly affected by your core. Do you slouch? Your core is probably weak. Try this simple exercise below to start strengthening your core. Feel free to let me know if you have questions or want to share your expericence with doing this exercise. I'll be sharing more about corrective exercise and core exercises in upcoming emails. |
