Strength and Conditioning This course is designed for those wishing to increase strength, cardiovascular stamina and improved metabolic capacity in the face of various mechanical, orthopedic, environmental and/or systemic variables. A typical Str/Cond. class will begin with a dynamic warm up followed by specified exercises necessary for incorporating large muscle groups. The compound movements emphasized in this class play a vital role in building and maintaining strong muscle and bone density, and will ultimately translate into a better quality of life.

Medical Based Fitness Classes: Balance
Balance 1: This course has been designed to address the effects of the aging process and its impact on the various body systems. Integrate PT Functional Balance incorporates strength, flexibility and endurance training, as well as balance retraining. The class focuses on improved torso, upper and lower extremity strength to increase stability and the ability to navigate confidently, rise from chairs, and increase stamina. These exercises provide balance challenges similar to everyday life activities.The goal is to allow people to get out, be more social, enjoy family, and prevent falls.
ACSM Personal Training
David Santacruz, the newest member of the staff at Integrate Physical Therapy, possesses the ability to engineer workout designs that promote optimal outcomes for clients given a wide variety of functional and orthopedic limitations. Dave combines fluidity of movement with progressive overload in a way which clients are able to experience results within their functional capacity.
Neurological Rehabilitation + PT
Ellen O’Keefe is a seasoned physical therapist with vast experience in the field of physical therapy. Her specialties include neurology (Parkinson’s, brain injury, stroke rehab, and neuromuscular diseases), as well as orthopedics, pulmonary and cancer rehabilitation, and therapy for patients with multi- co-morbidities and multi-trauma. Ellen obtained her degree in Physical Therapy from Daemon College in Amherst, NY. Also a certified Wellness Coach, she provides a unique blend of personal and group training for patients by integrating her vast physical therapy experience.
Craniosacral + Cupping + PT
With over 10 years of experience, Brenna utilizes a multifaceted, holistic approach with her patients that blends manual therapy, exercise prescription and lifestyle improvements. Additionally, she practices craniosacral therapy based on the Upledger approach. She is passionate about helping patients when traditional physical therapy has not been sufficient and also has a special interest in working with patients who have hypermobility disorders. She additionally specializes in Orthopaedic impairments, notably those of the lumbar spine and SI dysfunction as well as issues of the extremities.
Integrative Wellness + Yoga + PTA
A graduate of ECPI, Jai possesses an extensive background in the health and wellness field. When she was 12, she helped found one of Richmond’s first yoga studios and since then has continued to expand her knowledge and skill sets in medical based wellness. Jai is a yoga instructor, a certified nutrition counselor, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from VCU. She is experienced in high intensity group exercise instruction and is currently engaged in study regarding correction for mechanical based repetitive movements of the lumbar spine and SI joint
Dr. Nelson Gregory is licensed to practice chiropractic with the Virginia State Board of Medicine and has been practicing chiropractic in Richmond since 1988. He completed his Doctor of Chiropractic training in 1986 at Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX. He also expanded his management and technique with a 3 year training program in rehabilitation and a 1 1/2 year program in sports chiropractic and strength and conditioning program. Peter Allen graduated from Eastern Mennonnite University in 2001 with a B.S. in Psychology. A collegiate soccer player with a passion for health and wellness, he was involved in the inception of the Zacharias-Ganey Health Institute by assisting to implement a team based approach to nutrition and exercise developed by Madge Zacharias, MD. This experience served as a catalyst for pursuing the field of Physical Therapy. After graduating from VCU in 2009, he worked for several years in various orthopedic settings.
