The holidays can be busy with parties, dinners, and other events that sometimes leave us feeling exhausted! This holiday season, find ways to make your fitness and nutrition a priority even with the hustle and bustle. Here's our tips to help you crush No Quit November:#1 Have a PlanThis year, don't “wing it” at every holiday party you attend between now and New Years. You need to have action steps in your plan to navigate times like this! Start with making sure you get balanced meals and smart choices like getting your workout done and hitting your water goal early on in the day if your event is later in the day. Avoid skipping meals all day to “save” calories and go starving. You won't feel in control of your food or beverage choices being hangry. If you're logging your foods, take a look at your macros for the day as a whole to help guide you to choices when it comes party time. If alcohol is available, choose lighter options like light beer and champagne to avoid the sugary cocktails. Have water in between beverages throughout the event. When it comes to workouts, if you can't make a BODYFIT class, try an at home workout or go for a walk. Something instead of nothing. Tip: If you have the option to take a food dish, opt for a healthy option like non-starchy veggies and dip, fruit tray - make it fun to match the holiday theme!
#2 Don't Let One Day Turn Into Weeks and MonthsYou know these events with foods, drinks and all the goodies are coming, so don't let anywhere from 3-12 meals between Halloween to New Years throw you off completely. When you have 1 or 2 days that are off your usual nutrition and fitness routine, get right back to it the next day to what you were doing before. No need to cut extra calories or be extreme and don't be fooled by social media influencers that promote quick fixes or post-holiday detoxes. You just have to get right back to what you were doing before sooner rather than later. Find small things to control in your plan! This holiday season don't let that mindset of “I'll start again on Monday” sneak in on you. Say yes to having a plan and enjoying the season without guilt!Need help with creating a plan for success?
