Whatever day it is... CONGRATS! on doing the Weight Loss Challenge!!!
Here's some information that may help you: There are many myths about weight loss and dieting, but the most damaging is that it's all about willpower. “If only I had a stronger willpower”, people say to themselves, “I would eat more healthily and become slim again”. If you believe that, then you will also believe that if you are overweight, then it is entirely your own fault. So, you go on a diet and when it fails (which many do) then naturally you blame yourself. You get depressed, gorge on carbs and give up. It's not your imagination: When you try to lose weight, you're fighting not only your cravings, but also your own body. Weight loss decreases the hormone leptin, which signals to your brain that you're full, and increases the hormone ghrelin, which stimulates hunger. This hormone imbalance continues long after you succeed at weight loss, making it even harder for you to keep the pounds off. Plus, if you cut too many calories too quickly, your metabolism will slow! And if you cut calories drastically, as a result you drop a lot of weight fairly quickly, it's likely that you're losing some muscle. Muscle is really the engine of metabolism, so that contributes to a lower metabolism. Eating too little also makes you more likely to rebound and go in the opposite direction by overeating because you were restricting yourself for so long. I recommend doing things more moderately: Increasing physical activity and decreasing calories. This has been shown to be what works in the long run. Good Luck!
