When I first interviewed Clint three years ago, I was immediately impressed with his compassion, his empathy, and his calm presence. And when he told me he was a psychology major at UNT, I knew he'd do well here at Soma -- with a training like that, he was sure to understand the deep connections between the body and the mind. He was a perfect fit!

Clint has been one of our most requested therapists over the years, and that speaks to his level of care for each and every one of his clients. I recall a few years ago, right before I was diagnosed with a torn and herniated disc in my low back, I was in debilitating pain.  I went to see Clint for a massage (he's always excelled at lower body work especially) -- and the next day the only discomfort I had in my body was just a tiny bit of tingling in my left toe! I had to see a chiropractor to truly heal the area that was injured, but Clint's care kept my pain in check when I was at my worst, and I'm still amazed at how much he helped me get through that dark and painful time.

So when Clint told me last week that he was accepted to grad school for psychology, I was so excited for him! What a great opportunity for his future! -- but then the bad news came: it's in Kansas, and he's leaving in just a few weeks.

It was hard to keep that smile on my face as I congratulated him, y'all. Clint is truly irreplaceable, and I love him as both a colleague and as a friend. But his time here at Soma is coming to an end, and I'm wishing him all the best, even if it breaks my heart.

Clint's last day will be August 1. If you haven't had an opportunity to see him yet, now's your chance. And for his "regulars", we will definitely be contacting you to help you find the right fit for your care. With a dozen therapists here (and more interviews happening this week to bring even more amazing people on board), odds are good that we'll be able to find a good match for you.

Our June, July, and August Massage for a Cause Partner is Library2Go!

Library2Go is a project to establish a Denton ISD Bookmobile. Research shows most students who read less than 10 books over the summer lose 2-3 months of learning. The bookmobile is designed to bring books to the 43% of Denton ISD students with little to no access to a public library over the summer.

We are asking the community to please donate new or gently used books, appropriate for children and teens. Library2Go is especially in need of books in Spanish. Donate one or more books and you'll be entered to win a free one hour massage!

New or gently used chapter books for teens/tweens
Books in Spanish are the biggest need!

You do not need to have an appointment here in order to participate! ANYONE can bring donations to our main office at 529 Malone St, and you'll be entered to win a free one hour massage!
