We have all beent here ... we decide we finally are going to start a new "diet" or nutrition plan, we read all the information on it, we plan, we prep, but wait, what do we do with all of the treats, snacks, cookies, and unhealthy foods already in the house? Many have told me that they have to finish eating all of these foods BEFORE starting a new program, but then I ask them why? Here are some of the reasons I get and another point of view to consider: - I don't like to waste food ... but is it really food? Most of the treats and snacks you buy are filled with chemicals, preservatives, and unnatural ingredients so I'd say you're not really wasting FOOD. What do you think? - I spent money on it already ... whatever the amount of money you spent, just think of it as money spent to spare your body of harm, disease and medical bills! - I buy these for the kids ... you feed your kids unhealthy snacks? We're not judging here, and I understand we all need quick snacks for the family, but if YOU can find healthy snacks, I'm sure you can find healthier options for the family too. #noexcuses - Sometimes I just need a little something or I'll go crazy ... stop letting your Sugar Dragon speak for you. Your Sugar Dragon (the yeast living in your gut from all of the sugary substances you've been feeding it over the years) has taken over your gut and is now trying to control your mind and your actions. Don't let it win! Don't continue to feed it power! Kill it with CLEAN EATING! YOU CAN DO IT! If none of these (excuses) resonate with you, just tell us which one you use and I'm sure we can come up with another point of view to consider ;) In summary, get rid of all the unhealthy foods in your house before starting a new nutrition program and spare yourself the temptation. And getting rid of it doesn't mean eating it! |
