Can you believe we're half-way through 2021 already? Most years, we tend to see January as a new beginning. Or, if you're like me, I always think of September as a new beginning (I guess it goes back to my school days!). But, this year, I think many of us are seeing June as a new beginning. As vaccinations continue across the state and restrictions lifted, there seems to be a new optimism as we begin to return to our own personal senses of normalcy. At the same time, this return to normalcy, can also be a source of stress. For me, after being able to work remotely for over a year, the thought of returning to sitting on a train for almost three hours a day round-trip and sitting in an office has been my source of stress. Many times I find my mind going into overdrive. This is when my yoga practice comes in handy. My consistent practice reminds me to remain in the present moment and when I feel overwhelmed to step back and take a few deep breaths -- much like those time you just need to take a moment in child's pose. Please be sure to check out the schedule for this month. - Weekday beach classes begin week of June 14
- Monday and Wednesday night classes will now be held at the beach (weather permitting, of course)
- Morning online classes have been moved up to 9am.
For those of you who don't like to practice on the beach and are over Zoom, check out my studio classes at Positions Dance Studio in Babylon on Sundays and Elevate Yoga & Welness in Massapequa on Tuesdays. See you on the mat! ~Cyndy |
